Deactivating your account

Article 6 of 10 in Managing your account

Deactivating your account removes your profile, posts, and activity from public view without immediately and permanently deleting everything — think of it as a pause button rather than a hard stop.

  • Go to Settings → Deactivate account.
  • Read through and confirm that you understand what deactivating does.
  • Confirm the deactivation to complete it.

Once it's done, your account disappears from search results, other people's profiles, and everyone's feeds, as if it were never there. InteractInk gives you a grace period after deactivating during which logging back in automatically reactivates your account with everything — posts, followers, settings — restored exactly as you left it. If that window passes and you never log back in, your account and its associated data may be permanently removed from InteractInk's systems, so if you're only taking a short break, this is a reasonable option, but if you want your data gone for good, downloading a copy first and then deactivating is the safer order of operations.
