How to Use InteractInk Safely
A quick, practical guide to getting the most out of an anonymous board without running into avoidable problems — whether you're new to this kind of platform or just want a refresher.
Before you post
- Re-read your post for identifying details you didn't mean to include
- Check the thread's existing tone — replying constructively gets better engagement than piling onto an already heated thread
- Remember posts are public and can be screenshotted; don't post anything you'd be uncomfortable seeing outside the platform
Understanding tripcodes
If you want to be recognizable across a single thread without an account, the automatic tripcode does that for you. If you want continuity across multiple sessions, you can generate one from a private passphrase — see Tripcodes Explained for details. Neither option creates a recoverable account, so there's no password reset if you lose access to a passphrase you chose.
Using reply anchors
Typing >> followed by a post ID links directly to that post, which keeps threads readable even when several conversations are happening at once. It's worth using this instead of quoting text manually — it's faster and keeps context intact for other readers.
If you see something that breaks the rules
Use the Report link on the specific post. That routes it to review faster than a general email, and including the post ID if you do email us helps us find it quickly. See our Community Guidelines for what qualifies.
What not to expect
InteractInk removes the profile layer, not all traceability — see How Anonymous Posting Actually Works for the honest version of what anonymity here does and doesn't cover. Don't post anything where the consequences of it being traced back to you would be serious.
A few habits that make the board better for everyone
- Stay on topic within a thread rather than derailing it
- Assume good faith before assuming a post is bait or spam
- Report rather than engage when a post is clearly breaking the rules
