How your For You feed decides what to show you

Your For You feed isn't random — it's assembled from a mix of signals about what you've engaged with in the past and what's currently happening across the accounts and Communities you're connected to.

• Your own activity — the posts you like, reply to, and repost all shape what gets recommended to you next.
• Your network — accounts, Lists, and Communities you follow feed directly into what gets surfaced in your feed.
• Overall engagement — posts getting a lot of genuine interaction from people whose activity resembles yours are more likely to appear.

None of this is fixed in place. The more you like, reply to, and follow accounts you actually enjoy, the more your For You feed shifts to reflect that over time, so it tends to improve the more you use it naturally rather than trying to game it. If you'd rather see a feed with none of this recommendation logic involved at all, switching to the Following tab gives you a purely chronological view of just the accounts you've chosen to follow, with nothing else mixed in.
